Kieu Ky
Kieu Ky craft village is situated in Kieu Ky commune, Gia Lam district, Hanoi, about 15km northeast of the city center. Kieu Ky is the only place in the country that makes gold and silver anemones. Currently, Kieu Ky craft village ( has nearly 50 families trading anemone gold. When Hanoi implements social distancing, workers at these facilities do "3 on the spot", while households produce within their own premises.
In recent years, the industry of making gold and silver anemone in Kieu Ky village has developed into two types: making gold and silver anemone old and making silver anemone new. In particular, the old gold and silver are made from real gold and silver, while the new silver and gold are made from tin.
To make gold and silver litmus, workers have to perform many stages such as: processing ink, mixing dó paper, beating and peeling litmus paper, gliding ink and smashing litmus paper like, mixing kieu paper to make litmus leaves broken, gold and silver rolling, breaking, cutting lines, beating litmus, litmus camp collects finished products. The final stage is to use a small trowel to remove the gold and silver leaves and then spread them between the small pieces of paper also sized 5cmx5cm. Gold and silver products made by Kieu Ky villagers not only meet the needs of embellishing and repairing ancient architectural works in the country such as communal houses, temples, pagodas, shrines... but also exported to around the globe for its value.
